Overview
Globalpay is a subsidiary product of Zenith Bank that specialises in Online payment for businesses
within Africa. The previous platform was very outdated and needed a modern clean design to increase
users and drive sales. I led the design of this product by introducing modern design standards.
The product was a successful launch and it was praised by Stakeholders and Business Owners within the Organization.
I regularly had meetings with the Stakeholders of the Organization to ensure the design choices for the app aligns with the business goals. Also, maintained close communication with developers to grasp their skills and project limitations.
Business requirements
Payment Processing Functionality: Enable secure processing of various payment types like credit cards, bank transfers, USSD and QR code
Developer-Friendly APIs: Provide well-documented APIs and SDKs for easy integration, fostering a developer ecosystem to expand the platform.
Reporting and Analytics:Offer comprehensive reporting and analytics for merchants to track transaction performance and gain insights into customer behavior.
Subscription and Recurring Billing: Support subscription-based models with features like recurring billing, subscription management, and invoicing.
Challenges
While I was working on the Activation flow process for users to register their business information, the amount of information seemed quite overwhelming so I had to break down the information into steps and reiterate further to provide a seamless smooth experience.

Research
I carried out In-depth discussions with key stakeholders (IT, security, customer service, compliance) to understand their needs, concerns, and existing processes. Then I analyzed existing payment gateways such as Flutterwave, Paystack e.t.c. to identify best practices, user trends, and potential gaps in the market. Findings were presented with 15 page documents on best pratices to adopt and avoid to build a secure and scalable financial system
G1: Analytics : UX & Business Advantage
Merchants Gain:

Results & Conclusion
The application was launched on August 20th 2023, Bugs were fixed to ensure the system is secure, stable and user friendly. Overall, the system has gained over 5000+ users and has processed over 950M+ transactions so far. Next steps is to improve the existing systems and work on new features that are in line with the merchant needs and business needs.
